Question:

Can someone provide me a rule of thumb for implementing a new partner (vendor, supplier, etc.) for automating payments for goods, services, reciepts, etc?

We have approximately 300 partners of various types. Currently, only 4 are on EDI (we use a GSX product). Trying to put together an estimate for size of project team, supporting staff, etc. as well as timeframe to bring all (or a majority) on to EDI.

Hi Waynym

By my own experiences
We were 3 people, quiet skilled on EDI, for implement and support +300 Partners

The average for implementing by ourselves a Partner was at least 3 weeks (contact, testing, Go Live)
By myself, it was easy to deal with 5 to 8 implementation in the sametime

All of us was doing support

It's critical to identify and qualify your Partners and then to split them into categories: from the "very easy and quick to do EDI with" to "very hard and too-long"
some implementation took around 1 year
Others only a few days
