HELP. I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I hope someone here can help.

We are running Aloha 6.1 and the owner forgot to batch the credit cards on EDC following Friday's business. During Saturdays busy night, the system returned the message "Batch Full" and we ran the EDC Batch.

We are a nightclub and run a $1 preauthorization on the card when we open a tab. The card is returned to the guest at that time.

When EDC ran the batch the FOH still thinks there is a preauthorization and the BOH no longer has the preauth so the card can not be closed out. Our reseller said to close the tabs to cash and manually enter the transactions in EDC.

The audit report has been set to unmask card numbers and I can view the CC numbers for transactions that have a payment applied, but not the requests for Preauth in the audit report. The EDC shows the cards that are Preauthed, but masked.

I need to either find a way to unmask the card numbers in EDC report on the closed batch or to display in Aloha BOH the full card number for the preauths.

I saw a post that said that the edc.ini file can have a setting PrintFullCardNumber=1 to show full card number PrintFullCardNumber=0 to mask. I do not know what section of the ini file this needs to be in, can anyone illuminate me?

I think it goes under the processor's name heading. If it still works in that version. If not try it where ever you see the rest of the settings.

No the [REPORT] section is where it goes.

Thank you for your help, however it does not seem to work. i have tried it in both locations. And it is ver 6.4.17 of EDC.

This is over $1000 in transactions that appear to be lost.

AT this point, i am wondering if there is any way to get the audit report to display preauthorizations. they do not appear in the audit report and i am sure that they are somewhere in the system.

Any ideas?

If you need affordable help with this issue, send an email to alohasupport@live.com with your contact information and best time to call. We have been supporting Aloha systems for over 10 years. We will call you to discuss.

Perhaps you could contact your processor directly and see if they can help. they should have that data, Not sure if they will give it to you. Maybe they have a process to release such information or maybe they can adjust the auth amount.

I am kind of shocked that he audit report does not show Pre Auth.

Well good luck.

thank you for that idea. i am contacting them for the info. And yes, even our resellers tech support had no clue that it was not in the audit reports

On a side note, to keep this from happening you can increase the max batch size. I am assuming you are processing with "CES"...
