I am supposed to setup a a processor on Aloha 5.3 using First Data.

Weird thing is, the customer is already using CES (First Data PIN)... I get the feeling I am NOT supposed to be using CES. But I am not sure. Is there some other setup sheet I might use in EDC? Or will it still be CES if the processor is First Data.

Second question: This customer wants to split settle with Amex. Sounds straight forward enough, but the Amex is being done through Global Payment systems. So which do I use, the Amex or Global Payment (and I don't think Global payment can process online-has to use a dial up?

why does this processor stuff have to be so damn confusing...

thanks for the help

Use CES platform to set up First Data. (same company after a few mergers).

If Global is setting up Amex have them set it up to Auth and Settle directly to Amex. You will have to use dial-up for that.

Since your changes to CES will overwrite your exisiting account info be sure to make a backup copy of edc.ini before making any changes.

Be sure you get a First Data IPN Terminal ID. Oftem the First Data people just give the standard Terminaql ID and don't get the Terminal ID for the IPN side. They will also have to get you the DID.

Cheers

RE: "...but the Amex is being done through Global Payment systems."

That's weird, why? If you're splitting out AMEX, my thought is you should be going directly to AMEX. My guess is that the Global layer is unnecessary.

If you cannot get this resolved or come to a satisfactory solution, check if the $$$ ON THE NET (or if older, $$$ in the Bank, or possibly just Shift4) EDC option is available for your version. If it is, it can be configured to do First Data and AMEX directly.

Good luck. Hope this helps.
