EDC Batch problem

Aloha v5.3.15

Every so often, end user gets an error message that the batch is full and must be settled when they try to run a card from the front of the house).

Odd thing is, it doesn't seem to be a consistent amount, but it definitely with larger batches, but not ridiculously huge either (last time, it was about $7k).

I don't know if there is a setting for this somewhere, or why it started doing this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is this CES?
If yes then in the EDC.ini file add this line under the [CES] header- maxtransactionsperbatch=2000 or whatever the number of transactions they average. CES defaults to something like 500 or something like that.
I am not sure if this code line works with other processors but you can try it.

Bo,

As usual, you are absolutely on the right track. It is in fact CES (First Data IPN).

Here's my problem:

1) There is no entry even remotely like that in EDC. There isn't even an entry that could feasibly be a # of credit cards. All the values are low (like =1, =2) or extremely high (like the merchant code, =5812). Could it be that the absence of this entry is causing it to default to some number? Can you shed any light on what the exact verbage is on this entry-maybe manually adding it will take care of it.

2) This is stranger to me, but probably isn't as important. I don't exactly when this started happening, but their file server was rebuilt at one point. If I had to guess, I would say it started after that. But I am confused as to why this would all of the sudden start happening. They have had higher business volumes in the past, and not gotten this error-but then again, as I said, that might have been before the reload.

In any case, I think it's a legtimate error in the sense that this value is set too low somewhere. I say this because after we got the call, we found out they forgot to batch yesterday (which makes sense that it probably just exceeded this value).

Thanks again for your help!
