I'm building an ecommerce site using Microsoft access. This is my first ecommerce site and it's basically built, (created it by reading Ultradev tutorials) and it's essentially very basic. I was just wondering how I go about integrating verifying credit card information on my shopping cart function?
Any help or info is much appreciated.

Verifying credit card info is very much left to a third party - for a lot of reasons. There are several, but all of them WILL be a hassle to deal with until you work through the various tech and commercial requirements.

"Shopping cart" is more or less well explained in several places. I use a 'hard copy' "internet Programming with Visual Basic 5"

Could you please give me some examples or a list of the tech and commercial requirements?

Hi i'm a student and I have a project to do for a web page design class and the subject is building a comercial webpage. If you can tell me where you got the tutorials and what you did would be helpfull to me. Thanks

I'm using SAMS Teach Yourself Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 in 21 Days. Some of the more advanced chapters deals with registering, building a catalog, search functions, shopping cart etc, and that's what I've used. The book uses MYSQL for it's database but I've used Access and it's fairly easy to translate what the author is doing in MYSQL to Microsoft Access.

jeevenze,

The detailed requirements are generally specific to the service provider. It makes little or no difference what I tell you, as the next vendor will have something else they require. Tech stuff is usually orientated toward connection processes and address stability. Financial are how (commercial bank/credit) accounts are managed, 'signature rights' and contractual language.
