Can some one lead me in the right step's to look for. I have a IP office 500 v2, with voicemail pro, 6.1 in to a NetNanta 1234 Adtran switch, with analog trunks feeding it, 2 vlan's 1 voice 1 for data,I set up auto adjust for trunks, There is a ECHO on both internal calls and external. Right from the start there was a echo on station to station call's.. Any suggestion...PLEASE..To look at Did i miss someting,,Thanks ...

Sorry i for got to say i have 9620 IP Phones on it also...

What handsets? What does SSA show against an internal call between stations (jitter, packet loss etc)? Do you allow direct media path between sets? If so try disabling it and see if anything changes :)

Sorry this is my first..where do i see SSA is that with the monitor, I have two systems here in the office to look at. Is that under the system sit up or set's..Thanks

Have you received any training on the system? I ask as troubleshooting this takes a fair amount of system and general VoIP knowledge, without that you will struggle. SSA is installed along with Manager and monitor, it is a seperate programme :)

I have had some tranning not much a bootcamp..on the ip office and if anyone know it doesn't cover everything, And they only go so far..Where do i look for the media path between set's..thanks

Direct media path is enabled/disabled in the extn section of Manager on a per set basis, it requires a reboot to change though :)

>with analog trunks feeding it,

Analogue trunks and IP phones are always a real pain in the rear.

make sure that teh impedance on the ATM card has been set correctly (autodiscover)

Make sure also that the lines are clear at the demark

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks all for the tip's.yes lines are clear at demarc. And i did the auto discover. And i didnt know the correct SSA or what you ment, sorry i have used that before to watch where my mucic on hold wav.files were deleted. So i am on the same page...lol..i hope. I look at my off line systems under manger and i see the direct media path are enabled,,And Should i use G.711,ulaws or the G.729.(a)8k. And should i have then both the same for user's as for the system..

Did you watch a call in progress in SSA? What did it show against jitter etc? Always try to use G711 as that is the best quality, if you have to go down to G729 then something is very wrong with the network. As Matt says analog to IP is always troublesome but internal should not give echo unless something on the network is causing it or it's a poorly set up network for VoIP. :)

No i have to go to customer ans see what it is saying in the SSA and i will let you know,The setting for the G729 was default i never changed it. I seen that here at my desk when i look at it in my offline config for this job. I am off going to the customer to look at the SSA and then try the new settings THANKYOU VERY MUCH ALL ..Network is small only 5 computer's and phones..All new wire cat 6

Also try to turn Auto Gain Control off on the handsets, try to change the Gain on the Extension settings to 1db and make sure the swithport the system is connected to is set 100 Full not auto :)

You said turn off auto gain control off on the handsets. Is that the compression mode under ext's and then the voip tab, And the gain you said try 1db is that the ip>ip gain in the same place.

AGC is a setting on the handset itself in the menu. The other settings are in Manager under extn voip tab :)

Before you ask for AGC I think it's, Avaya Menu key > Options & Settings > Advanced Options :)
