I had asked our local carrier if we are using echo cancellation on our local PRIs. They said we are not and they can turn it on if we’d like but they would need to know what kind of cancellation we’re looking for; External, Innotone, Internal, or UNEQuipped. Does anyone know what these 4 types really are and how I can find out which one (if any) would work for our situation?
We have about 15ip phones in a remote office about 1000 miles away. Really, the only complaint is that some (not all) local calls mostly outbound the caller on our end here’s a severe echo of themselves. The callers on the other end have not complained so it appears it’s only our users hearing it. This is mostly with local calls outbound… I’ve only heard of a handful of cases of calls inbound but my guess is that might be due to something else (cell phone, etc). Extension to extension calling is fine as is long distance. We are using a different carrier’s pri for long distance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
