Hello

I bought a MB and then had to return it as it broke. I already bought PC3200 184 pin DDR which is non-ECC/non-parity. Will this memory work on a board that takes ECC memory as its main type? I have read that ECC memory will work on a non-ECC board but it just won't do the ECC functions. Is the reverse true or do i have to get ECC memory if I am using an ECC board?

Thanks in advance

Greg

Most (all that I have ever seen) boards that accept ECC memory also will accept non-ECC. However, some non-ECC boards will not accept ECC. It's best to check with the motherboard manufacturer. Hope this helps.
