ECC - Can I use it for Storage provisioning?

I was curious about the ECC product. Can I use it to provision luns in an automated fashion? Assuming that it's installed on all of my servers, I would hope that I could get overall allocation metrics, as well as a porcess that would allow me to easily provision.

Any answers/advice is greatly appreciated.

What storage array are you using? You can use ECC, script your own solution, etc.

If using EMC Storage - yes
it's called "Storage Provisioning Services" (SPS)
there are some particular requirements here (Zoning within ECC) and the LUNs are picked by the sevice, instead of the Admin having the control of where the LUN comes from.
