Hello,

Can somebody please explain me the steps to configure a EC500 station?.

Thanks in advance!

After you add that, you'll want to add two buttons to the station:

ec500 and extnd-call

The ec500 button (when active) will allow calls to the station to ring at both the cell and the station. Press it again to disable the feature. Calls will only ring at your station.

The extend-call button will allow you to transfer a call in progress to the cell phone. Press the extnd-call button, answer the call at the cell, and you can hang up the desk station.

You'll also want to look up feature extensions. They allow you to activate/deactivate features by simply calling DID numbers from phones that are mapped as off-PBX telephones.

Hey Guys, thank you so much!!. that did work so beautifuly!

Thanks a million!

I have a question... how does the Xmobile, OPS and PBFMC stations work?... do you have some example to use those features?... thanks again!

OPS = SIP Enablement Services (SES)-enabled phone
PBFMC = Public Fixed Mobile Convergence

You'd know if you had these features. SES servers combine SIP stations with the Avaya PBX, and PBFMC allows you to put a mobile application on your blackberry (for example) and use it as a station extension.

Yes, I have those features in my system, in fact I have 100 OPS licenses. I am trying to use SIP to configure Ascom phones with our Avaya system.

Thanks again!

Hello again,

When I setup EC500, when I receive a call in my desk phone and ring in my cell phone and I answer in my cell phone.. am I charger for that call with the phone company as if I answer a regular call in my cell phone?

thanks!

Depending on your cell company and your trunk services provider, the answer may be yes or no.

If the cell phone number is local to your PBX location, then you are probably not charged for the call. If it would normally be a long distance call from your desk to your cell phone, then you are.

If your cell phone company doesn't charge for incoming calls, then no. If your cell phone company charges for all calls, then you probably are being charged.

Your EC500 call will take up two trunks if it originates from outside the company, and one trunk if it's from another extension. It's otherwise just another phone call, and will incur the same charges.
