erock2000,
Enter “change system-parameters features” and make sure that you have “Transfer upon hang-up?” set to “Y”. If it is not, change it and save. This should be on page 6.
Next, enter “change off-pbx-telephone feature-name-extensions” and make sure that there is a valid DID number assigned to the “Transfer on hang-up” field. If there is not one, enter one and save.
To transfer a call from your cell phone do the following
Place the call on your cell phone on hold
Call the Transfer on hang-up number
When the system answers, enter the number you want the call to go to (if it is an off PBX call, make sure to enter the number as you would from your system phone 9 555-1212 or whatever)
End the call to the transfer on hang-up number
Pickup the call you placed on hold
When you hang-up on the call it should be transferred to the number you told the system to send it to.
For this to work the existing call must be connected to your cell phone through the PBX. It will not work if the call came straight to, or from your cell phone.
I believe that the following is true:
To transfer a call off of the PBX, the system needs to be setup (and you need correct permissions) to allow the type of transfer you are attempting. Specifically if the call came from outside through the PBX to your cell phone from an outside line, or you made the call from your cell phone, through the PBX to an outside line, you need the correct type of trunk to trunk transfer enabled. Outgoing Trunk to Outgoing Trunk Transfer must be enabled to transfer a call you initiated to another outside number, and Trunk to Trunk transfer must be enabled to transfer a call that came to you to an outside number.
