EC500 is very nice, but our users are clamoring for a way to be able to still get caller ID, but have it modified in such a way that they can tell the call was bridged over from the switch. Maybe add an asterisk or "F" or something before the number.

Is this possible? Any other suggestions? We do need ID sent to the mobile phone no matter what.

Thanks.

To my best knowledge it's not possible to send out an extra number or character unless your service provider supports this. And up untill now I've never heard of anything like this. It think the best way to solve this issue is to route EC500 calls over a seperate trunk and ask your service provider to set a special CLI on this trunk. This way the mobile users will always know it's an EC500 call, but unfortunately do not get the CLI of the caller.
Otherwise I do not think it's possible to identify EC500 calls.

Actually you can. If I understand the question right. Change your trunk to "Send Calling number" to yes. Then in your "Change isdn public-unkown-numbering" set the "Ext Len" to what your length is. In "Ext code", set this to the beginning digit of your extensions. Leave the "CPN prefix" blank and the "Total CPN Len" as the same as "Ext Len"

If you have multiple exts like 1234 and 5678, I am not sure how to incorporate both 1 and 5 in the "Ext Code". Any hoot I got most of the info from this thread and this Avaya document...have fun ;p

I meant this thread....

thread690-566079 down for the documents I mentioned.

It depends on where in the world you are, as in some countries aloow you to change the outgoing CLI. Although from my experience of the UK, USA and Germany I have not been able to achieve modification of the CLI to a different number.
There is another way round the problem, there is a product from OnRelay that I have investigated in the past that gets round the problem.
Hope this helps
