I have about 10 field offices with G350s and G700s with the IA770 Audix installed. Many of the agents I support spend most of their days in the field and would prefer that their calls be answered by their cell phone voice mail rather than the Audix. Currently, I set them up with EC500 and a cover path set to their cell phone after 4-5 rings.
But I'm wondering if I'm doing this the right, or perhaps "best", way. I'd like to give them the option of shutting off their EC500 for when they ARE in the office so they're not getting their cell phone AND their desk phone both ringing at them all the time. But... if their normal cover path is set for, say, 4-5 rings, then if they forget to enable EC500 their callers will hear 4-5 rings, THEN it goes to their cell phone and the callers can potentially hear another 5-6 rings before finally getting the oh-so-long cell carrier greeting. I don't want them losing calls, since calls = money for my agents.
If I don't put a cover path on the phone, and depend on EC500 ringing the cell and the cell's VM picking up the call, if someone disables EC500, then the calls never even get to the cell. So I'm not sure that's the best option.
Guess I'm trying to make it idiot-proof (and we all know about smarter idiots coming along when you do that!). What do you folks advise in this situation?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
