Hi
My problem is this
I have a v440 server with an L500 (tape library) with 2x LTO3 drives. I want to to configure EBS (v7.3) so that backups write 4 save sets to
each drive simultaneously. Currently it will only write 4 save sets
to 1 drive or 2 save sets to 2 drives. I have tried reconfiguring the
numbers of target sessions and changing paralellism without any success.

I don't seem to be able to get more than 4 savegroups run at the same time,
I can have either 4 on 1 drive or 2 on 2 drives, but I never get a fifth
savegroup running.

EBS parameters are set as follows:

server parallelism = 4 ( EBS won't allow this to be set any higher - if I try increasing this value, EBS complains abou i being "out of range"
save group parallelism = 8 (have also tried 4)
client parallelism = 4 (thinking this is over ridden by the group
parallelism)
devices target sessions = 10

Perhaps what I want to achieve is illegal or I have'nt configured it correctly;
Could somebody advise please

regards
Jethro

You are stuck if you can not increase the server parallelism. Then the limit is 4.
