I upgrade from Win98SE to Win2k. Since doing so, no applications recognize the EAX function on my Soudblaster Live. I have installed all the new drivers from Creative to no avail. Applications which support EAX have the field grayed out. I have read somewhere that creative does not support EAX on soundblaster live in Win2k. Is this a fact or is something else amiss here? Thanks

Info from CREATIVE:
"LiveDrvPack.exe (25,911,874 bytes)-> This package upgrades the Sound Blaster Live! driver and enhances the overall product performance on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The package also upgrades core applications including Audio HQ and Surround Mixer for optimal Sound Blaster Live! performance. Resolves compatibility issues with Sound Blaster Live! products on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This package can be installed independently and does not require other applications in the Sound Blaster Live! DriverPack to be downloaded.
Older Sound Blaster Live! Experience demo applications may not work properly when updated with the Live! DriverPack.
Creative Launcher is no longer installed at Startup. Users must use the program start menu to launch Sound Blaster Live! Applications."

"bluescreen77: Uninstall ALL "SB" drivers and software, restart, install only the "LiveDrvPack.exe" (...install SP3)

From CREATIVE: "To unistall the SB Live! in Windows 2000, please follow these steps: Start Windows 2000 in Safe Mode by selecting Start - Shutdown - Restart - OK. On bootup when the message 'Please select the operating system to start' appears, press F8 and select Safe Mode
Close any Creative applications that are running e.g. AudioHQ, Creative Launcher, Remote Center, Disc Detector
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and select Task Manager. On the 'Processes' tab, select devldr32.exe from the list and click End Process. Uninstall all SB Live! drivers and software by selecting Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs
In Start - Settings - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - Sound, Video, Game Controllers, right-click the Creative SB Live! and Game Port for Creative SB Live! entries and click uninstall
In Windows Explorer, go to Tools - Folder Options and on the View tab, ensure that 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' is enabled and that the 'Hide file extensions for known file types' option is disabled.Then select Start - Search - For Files or Folders. Search for and delete the following files if still present;
A3D.DLL
CTWDM32.DLL
DEVCON32.DLL
2GMGSMT.SF2
CTLFACE.SYS
EMU10K1F.SYS
SFMAN.SYS
SBLFX.DLL
DEVLDR32.EXE
SFMAN32.DLL
Please note that if you get an error that a file cannot be deleted, right-click the file and rename it to .OLD instead. e.g. DEVLDR32.EXE becomes DEVLDR32.OLD
To delete the INF file(s), select Start - Search - For Files or Folders. In the field 'Search for Files or Folders named', type oem*.inf and in the field 'Containing Text', type Creative and click Search Now. Depending on how many Creative products you have installed, some files named OEMx.INF will be found where x is a number. Open each file and read the first few lines to see if there is a reference to SB Live! If there is, close the file and delete it.

... my finaly advice: "Clean-Install" not "Upgrade" (just search the "MS Knowledge Base"...)

Thanks,bluescreen77,That did the trick!
