I am having a problem with one user synching his Palm Pilot. It was working fine until he archived his database. Now, it wants to delete 1200 or more records from his Palm. He needs to keep the records on his Palm but not in the active Notes database. When he tells it not to delete the HotSync stops and it does not synch anything. Anyone else using this software? Any ideas?

When you archive you indeed delte these messages from your mailbox so that is why this is happening.

You could try the following:

In the replication settings of the database in Notes select: "Do not sent deletions to other replica's".

This will prevent deletions that are made in the mailfile to be replicated to other databases. Unfortunately this will be the case for all replica's of this database.

Another thing you might look for is the options to not receive deletions in the replica on the Palm. i do not know if such an option exist. A normal replica on Notes has such an option.

A third possibility is that you set up the Palm to retrieve his mail with POP3 directly from the Domino server. This will not trigger any deletions in the Palm. You need to select the option to leave the mail on the server however if you need the mail in Notes also.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the tips. I should have mentioned, the only thing he is synching with his PALM are his calendar entries. Is there a way to tell it not to archive the calendar entries?
