To unistall WIndows Messnger (NOT MSN MESSENGER) type this in the Run command "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove" I hope this helps and enjoy... Tejanorey

Not easier, just a different way.
I've noticed that after you load SP1 windows messenger appears in the windows components section of add/remove and can be removed like any other windows component.

removing from the add/remove does not really remove it. the og post is the best way to rid yourself of the m$ junk.

just simply rename the messenger folder to anything else,but make sure messenger is off.If you can't turn off messenger in windows then do it in safemode then rename.
