Easy way to get rid of commas in Excel to CSV

Is there and easy way to have excel not stick extra commas in a csv file so they are not there when you open the csv in wordpad?

Please tell me if I am not clear.

Hi,

A CSV file is a COMMA separated values file.

If you do not want commas, the use another text type.

Well the application I'm using loads it's data from a csv file so I don't think I can do that.

When I try to reopen the configuration.csv file that I have modified in excel in Manager, I get unhandled exception errors. his has been happening to me since I started trying to do it. A poster in the IPO forum got me thinking I should try this again when he responded to you're question about full names.

As you know, importing users into manager works fine, but really doesn't do the full job. I wnat to be able to load all the user settings at one time but can't seem to get it right. My theory is the extra commas but I'm not sure.

The configuration.csv seems to be a waste if it cannot be used this way.

Instead of OPENing the .csv...

First open Excel.

Data > Import External Data > IMPORT.

Here, you can specify the field type, especially date or text.

You could open it with notepad and change the full names there

I know a Mitel also has some exporting with csv files and opening them with excel causes a corruption
