Is it an easy way (e.g. only keeping httpd.conf) to update my Apache 2.0.55 into a later version 2.2.4?

The link is useful, but I would still need an idiot-proof procedure to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.2 in a Windows system, without compiling, everything pre-cooked, and using only php as 3rd party module.

I tried myself, and all I got was two separate program folders and didn't dare to uninstall 2.0...

Should I just install 2.2 and move in the old httpd.conf file?

Hi

You had to ignore the compilation related part of that document. For proprietary commercial operating systems the open source softwares usualy have precompiled install packages. Just like Apache has.

I never upgraded to 2.2, but probably I would
[ul]
[li]copy httpd.conf to another directory, not related to Apache[/li]
[li]uninstall Apache 2.0[/li]
[li]install Apache 2.2[/li]
[li]copy from the old httpd.conf the directives added by me to the new one[/li]
[li]try to run Apache[/li]
[/ul]
But maybe someone can give you something practically tested.

Feherke.
