Hello,
I have a 5lim Easy software dump.I am goingto upgrade the system from bc9 to bc12 and I am going to use NIU2.How can I transfer this 5limbc12_dump to NIU2.What I have to do for this upgrade?
Thank you very much

Where is your BC12 dump located? I am sure it is bc12 5lim blank backup(no data). Still you need tpo PC regen your BC9 to collect all existing data. Also remember you need to hardware upgrade too.

Hello patcher..BC12dump is sending from support center..(We order that with easy software upgrade procedure). The system is 5 lim.But we have no 5 lim system in our office. My question is "I have 1lim test system in my office. As far as I know, I will copy this dump to harddisk than I put this disk to 5lim system ". After I change all eproms we start to system. Is it true?

You need to have 5 LIM system in your lab same as listed in your backup. This is because you need to reload it from this backup then resend the pcregen file(data collected from the site). But the way to upgrade or rebuild is, upgrade 1st all hardware. Let the system running for a week. Then ask for a data freeze so that no one will change any data. Then PC regen the site. Check all data generated, to see if all data are okay. If you have 5 lim in the lab, reload your lab from this BC12 backup. Then transmit the data back. Be sure you log all activities so that you can recheck if there are errors. Then dump and you can schedule when you will reload the actual system on site. If you don't have a lab, this means you will do it on site which will make the system down for many hours.

Hello PATCHER
Thank you very much for your help...Think that the system is BC10 and I have an easy software dump for ugrading that system to BC12.I am on the site and if I copy this easy software dump to NIU and give a LADAI command...If the system is going to up&run as BC12 or not.?

Hi bolivar,

just ftp the new bc12 dump to a harddisk on your testsystem.
the normal procedure is to remake the 5lim system in labo , try to boot the system, check any problems / fix them and then make a new dump.
since you do not have a 5 lim system you can do a partial test :
try to start your testsystem with bc12 dump and see if the lim 1 begins to load, it should go to 101 on lpu display. the only thing you're not going to be sure about is that you don't know if the other lims will load.

btw LADAI command makes MD110 do a DATA reload so this won't work. normal procedure is todo LALRL:LIM=ALL; this will do a full system reload. make sure you swapped disks before doing this command.

cheers

Hello bolivar, be sure in your BC12 easy SW contains the right number of LIM/s. To check it load your lab. Log in and check how many error code 34 in your alarm log. Also you cannot do LADAI it to your live switch because there is no data on your new BC12. You had to pcregen or rebuild the system.
