easy sed question 1

Sorry probably an easy one.

fileA
\t xxxxx
\t bbbbb

How do I remove the leading "\t" from each line using sed many thanks in advance.
 
t=`/bin/echo "\t\c"`
sed "s!^${t}!!" fileA > fileA.new
