I am a very new Indesign user (using Adobe InDesign CS2 as well as PC with MS Windows XP Professional Version 5.1) and have a really simple question. I am editing my second document. First document was great. Unfortunately, in the second document when I create new textboxes with the Type Tool and then double click, I don't see my cursor like I used to. I can't type in the text boxes and there is a red box as thought the document has extra text ready to be threaded --- it doesn't, just extra lines of space. I have checked the Text Frame Options as well as the Control palette (with the Transform, Paragraph, Character tabs). It must be something really simple. Can you help? Thanks.

Maybe you've hit Enter (the one on the 10-key) to force the text to the next frame in the thread...even if one doesn't exist. Click the red overset text box (with the Selection tool) and click with the loaded cursor...is your text there? I think your text is somehow overflowing...you just need to get it back.

Welcome to InDesign!
