Easy Question - Password Recovery

It has been a long time since I have had to do a password recovery. I have a Cisco 1700 router and I can't remember what I set the user and enable passwords to. I am using Hyperterm, and tried the ctrl+Break sequence, but nothing happened. Am I needing to use a different sequence for Windows XP?
