Hello Mitel Techs,
Is there anyway to import key programming? (e.g. Excel) I was looking for a way to do so , but thus far....nothing. My complaint is that it takes so long when going from key to key. Especially when you got a 5340 and the customer wants all keys remapped. It's absolutely painful going from key to key.

I'm familiar with the:

However my company is a "Hosted Mitel Service Provider" so connecting locally is not an option for me. This would probably be my go to tool as on my phone (locally) it works great!

Thanks for any info.

System Type is VERY important with a question like this.

kwbMitel,
In this case it would be a vMCD, is that what your asking?

Other Details are as follows.
Release Level: 6.0 SP2
Active software load: 12.0.2.23
Inactive software load: Not available
System relink: No relink has been applied
Call Control relink: No relink has been applied
Platform Industry Standard Server: 768MB of RAM

Thanks,
-Iron

Then Easy Peasy, do it all the time.

What seems to be the issue when you try?

kwbMitel,
Just clicking from button to button (As shown in the pic below) seems to take anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds before I can even input any info.

Suggestions?

kwbMitel,
If there was a way to import this excel spreadsheet (or any spreadsheet, properly formatted of course) on a per extension basis that would be awesome!

Okay looks like you have access to the controller. You can go the the advanced section where you will find Multiline Set Keys. You can export and import there. You may have to mess with the export file to get the correct import setup. Also I would try just doing one at a time and you can also choose just the buttons you wish to change

jpruder,
That's seems to be the ticket, thanks! I see what you mean about messing with the file a bit.

Thanks,
-Iron

When you export the file it comes in 2 sections.

For importing you only need the second section

Here is an edited version of what the header should look like (This was from an loder

[pre]
Programmable Keys vid0.4 12.0.2.23
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Use a couple of small files until you gain some confidence and then go to town

kwbMitel,
I took the day to learn how to use the .csv's properly. I have since built an internal "How to" document for our Internal users here at my company. Thanks all for the assistance.

Thanks,
-Matt W.

Just make sure they know all the ramifications, if they try and change all users at once i.e.may get a timeout.

jpruder,
I intend on only changing/rearranging one or a few users only. Not brave enough to try the whole shebang! ;-) Thanks again for the nudge in the right direction (You too kwbMitel).

Thanks,
-Iron

Once you gain some confidence you'll start to get bored with the routine of saving to separate files and uploading 1 at a time.

I once remapped the keys on over 400 phones with 1 import with no issues. It can be done but yes, you need to be very careful.

Whenever I do this I export all keys, copy the file to a new file name then edit.

Worst case I can always restore the original.
