Hi all

Having come from an entirely non-PBX background, sometimes the easy things don't necessarily register with me sometimes.

I want to add some direct dial numbers. We have an ISDN T and I want to take a bunch of numbers from that and forward them directly to extensions.

If I do this in the trunk group by stripping the incoming 7 digits and replacing the last 4 it'll work fine, but there's only 12 or so lines on that form.

If I do it with VDNs and vectors it works but it's really messy and long-winded.

There has to be an easy way of doing this. Anyone know what it is ?

Thanks

Pete

What if you went to a 5 digit plan for your new DIDs? Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

If you can use the last 4 digits of the DID-numbers as stations, you just have to delete the leading digits.

Using the last four digits as station numbers would be great, but we're tied into the station numbers we're already and the LEC can't supply any DIDs with the appropriate numbers. Any other ways of doing this ?

Thanks

Pete

Do your new DIDs have the same pre-fix? Look!!! New Buttons

Here is a way that I have fixed this problem in the past:

Let's say that your station numbers range from 1200 to 1299.

The LEC can't supply these digits but they can supply a range of 9200 to 9299. You would simply delete the 9 and insert a 1 in its place. This works great and I have "customized" several locations using this method!

You're absolutely right.

I'm a cretin, I shouldn't have even had to think about that.

Thanks for the help !
