Hi. Our Cisco CM environment was upgraded about a year ago to version 6.1 (from 3.3). I'm now being told that call-forwarding hasn't worked since then. When I check an individual's phone settings, the call forward options are checked. What am I missing? Is there a global on/off switch for forwarding? Do I need to add a button to a phone or change a phone template? Any help would be appreciated.

what are they saying is not working?

several things could be causing callfwding issues...

Make sure there's a calling search space provided for the forwarded number.

Here is a low-down on the problem. I'm told that there is a call-forward button at the bottom of the screen. The way it used to work is that you'd press the button and hear 2 beeps. After that, you could enter your number and the call would forward.

What happens now is that you hear the 2 short beeps, but when you start to dial it barks and comes back with "call cannot be completed as dialed.

If they are trying to forward off site, are they entering a 9 or whatever number you use to designate an outside call and does the string match up with your dial patterns? Get them to try an internal forward to see if it functions.

No - they cannot even forward internally.

Check the Calling Search Space (CSS) at the forward field.

The activation policy is set to system default. My options are "With Configured CSS" or "With Activiating Device/Line CSS". Do I make any changes here?

Also - I see now where you set the CSS for the forwards. I take it I can set to "Forward All", or lock it down to internal or external. Am I correct?

Yes, You can restrict them to forward internally, locally, to a toll area or even internationally. If the field is blank they can't call forward all at all.

Thanks OldTimephoneguy, that answers the question. Have a star on me.
