Hi,

I currently use Stac Replica for Windows NT to backup our server and restore files.

I'm having a few problems restoring files and it takes ages and ages to "mount" the tape as a volume before I can select the files I want to restore back to disk.

With Backup Exec SBS, How easy is it to restore a single file or files from a backup tape (HP SureStore 24GB DAT drive) to the disk again?

Also, has BackupExec sorted out the problem of Intelligent Disaster Recovery under Windows 2000 SBE?

Regards,
Jay/UK

restoring files with Backup Exec (8.6) is a snap:
select backup media you wish to restore from and just put little check marks beside the files and folders you wish to restore then hit the restore button and click "run now"- voila!
you can even redirect to an alternate location simply by selecting that option and browsing to the new location.
i had to recover quite a few files this past week and it couldn't have been easier.
