Hi,

I haven't used Extreme for a while now and have not had to configure EAPS before. Here is what we have:

4 x x450a switches. Let's say the switches are named A,B,C and D:

A - Port 48 to port 47 on B
B - Port 48 to port 47 on C
C - Port 48 to port 47 on D
D - Port 48 to port 47 on A

This creates the ring topology. I understand the basic format for configuring EAPS in this ring. What I am not sure of is the following:

When creating the EAPS domain name, must this domain name be cretaed on EVERY switch with the command: create eaps new_test ?

Or, is the domain only created once and then the control VLAN takes over?

Thanks

Clive

Through trouble and toil :) .... I have answered my own question.

The answer is that the EAPS domain name and the control vlan must be configured on each switch.

I have implimented and it is all working as it should which is marvellous.

As an add on to this post (For future refrence to other people) I also configured multiple EAPS domains with shared-ports and tested and have now created a three EAPS domains which is completely loop free and fully redundant.

If anyone needs any help with how this was configured then please let me know.

Regards
