eap ID1 and password

In the 1140E network configuration. when you enable eap you then have to enter ID1 and ID2 and password. In the Unistim 4.1 release I have found examples of ID1 = DEV1024, ID2 = TOW2234 and PASSWORD = D3C6V5

What is the ID1 and password used for? What is checking against this ID and password? Do I have to set somewhere in the Radius server an ID and password to be the same to match the phone? Does this mean every 1140E phone will have the same ID and password?
