One of our schools(MICS 6.1) has recently installed a PRI with DIDs and would like to send as much outgoing call info as possible on 911 calls; for example if a 911 call is made from the Science Lab at XYZ High School, this info would be sent along with the DID number. Is this done through OLI? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

ONLY THE DID NUMBER IS SENT FROM THE OLI, THERE MAY BE A THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE OUT THERE BUT HAVN'T HEARD ANYTHING

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

There is a new software upgrade available to the Nortel DMS switches that allows extended info, such as, the actual address of the calling party behind the PRI, to be sent across the PRI, I was told by one of our switch engineers who said it was very expensive. We had a customer requesting the same thing.

The TELCO (at least SBC in Wisconsin) does NOT pass the OLI to the 911 center on PRI circuits, just the Lead Number and address of the PRI. for me to get this type of info to the 911 center for one of our customers we would have had to subscribe to the "Locater ID" service that will take the OLI that you provide to the PRI and pass it to the 911 center. (figure this out: the non-emergency phone at the 911 center would get the OLI digits but the 911 center only got the lead number/address)

For a customer that has an extended campus like a hospital or school the customer should at least have documents/drawings at the reception area that show the location of all extensions. a real good idea is to have a call accounting package that will give an alarm to the front desk of any 911 calls out, and which extension made the call, so the front desk is ready for the 911 response teams when they show up.
