E911 calls not alerting

On our Avaya Definity, if somebody picks up a phone and calls 911 or 9-911 an alert sounds on the attendant console and with the command "list emergency" I can get details of who called. Everything is working fine there.

However we have several other phone systems tied to the Definity via T1 cards. When one of them calls 911, the call goes through the Definity to the phone company and 911 picks up, everything there seems to work OK. However the alert at the attendant console doesn't go off and the "list emergency" list is blank. Perhaps one of the many setting in the T1 to the other phone system is set incorrectly? Anyone have any thoughts on what might cause this?

Our Definity is a G3 Version: V9

On screen 2 of the trunk config there is an option called "Internal Alerting" I wonder if this is what I need.

The Avaya manual is not at all helpful about what this option does.

The feature you are looking for is Crissis Alert. You need to set the 911 entry in the ARS entry to alrt and assign the crss-alert button to the phones. I don't remember all the settings needed, but you should be able to search the forums here. Let me know, I can verify the settings we use tomorrow if you need more info.

wow, must have been influenced last night. I think the issue is that the system knows the calls did not originate on it and do not alert the attendant. We had the same problem with a CUCM that used the Avaya PSTN access. We never did get it fixed, all we found was 3rd party solutions.
