E8608 failed to enumerate database? error 1

Hi there,

I have Arcserve 2000 on one server and have oracle database on a separate server which also has a arcserve oracle agent on it.

Now arcserve was backing up the database online files night after night. Everything was fine until two days ago I got this error in the arcserve log

E8608 Failed to enumerate databases (EC= Oracle -- (209) "ORA-03114: not connected to oracle".)

Now none of the passwords have been changed.

anyone with any ideas?

That is a normal error if the database is down. We get that error here also because the DBA's shutdown the database to get a cold backup.
