E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbaxchg2, EC=425)

thanks in advance

Hi
What is the Exchange version?

This problem related to Insufficient privilege given to the account your are using to configure exchange Brick level
If you are uising exchnage 5.5 then follow the this doc to
give the required permissions

If you are using Exchange 2000 use the link

It is for Arcserve 9.0 but same privilege you have to give

regards,
mohamdr

Sorry, we're using Exchange 5.5, the account that has been configured to as the backup account is the Exchange admin account. That jobs been running fine for over a year an the last few days it's been coming up with the same error. I restarted the RPC Backup Service this morning, hopefully that'll help.

Hi
1-Are you able to expand the brick level without any problem?
2-Have you done any changes to the Exchange server like upgrading?

I suggest you to check the permission given on all exchange level Orginizaiton,Site & server.

regards
mohamdr

I can expand brick level with any problems, I'm looking it at now. The account is the domain exchange account, we have 7 other exchange servers throughout the country, all are using this same account and they're not experiencing any problems, which tells us it's not the account. The job runs, it just comes up with the same error.

We're stumped.

Try putting the Exchange Agent into debug, maybe the trace will provide additional information that will help resolve it.

See faq478-4051 for details on enabling debug.
