Hi,
I'm using ARCserve2000 SP2 french to backup SQL2000 french on Win2k french with SP2. Backups run fine, but when I try to restore a db, I've got the message above:
E8603 - Failed to write to database (dbagent error (83) 'Remote pipe open failed: time-out'.)
(of course, it's written in french!)
Looking at SQL agent's log, I can't see this error :
[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 37000)]
Error 3101: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.
Looking at MS website didn't teach me anything. On CA's website, there's no page about this problem. Does anyone encountered it? I have in mind to apply SQL2000 SP1, but since I'm not sure to restore my databases safely, I don't want to apply it... you probably understand why..
To be as accurate as possible, SQL, ARCserve and the agent are on the same server. The database I want to restore exists already, and even in single user mode, I can't restore it. Any idea???
Thanks all for your help,
LST
