E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbasql60, EC=1385)

Hi

I have Windows 2000 Server whith BrightStor Arcserve Backup v9.0 with SP5

And other Server with Windows 2000, SQL 6.5 and Brightstor Agent for SQL.

When I installed the Agent SQL, the Backup Agent Remote Service is not running on the target server, because this service is not installed.

And when I want to run a Backup I revieve the error:
E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbasql60, EC=1385

How I can resolve this problem??

The Backup Agent Remote service is only available when you install the SQL agent for SQL 7.0 or 2000. It is used during VDI (socket) backups. SQL 6.5 does not support VDI so all backups are done through named pipes. The Agent Remote Service will not be installed. You should see a Agent RPC Service though.

Make sure that the user you are specifying has sa rights. If possible use sa. Also make sure that the user you specify for the machine has log on locally rights.
