I was wondering if any one out there has had problems with backups failing with "E8524 Received unrecognized command from the client agent."
We have 7 Compaq backup servers all WIN 2K SP2. Each doing between 20-30 backups a night.
All servers are at the same level running ARCserve 2000 AE (build 1100) and we are using Arcserve 2000 Client Agent with SP4.
Every night a few backups will fail with "E8524 Received unrecognized command from the client agent." and in the morning I'll Stop&Start the Client agent and restart the failed backups. Which does the trick.
I've been in touch with CA and all they said was to Stop&Start the Client Agent - So we created a batch file to run before the backups start, and we still get this problem.
But why does this happen? and is there a real solution?
