E8524 Received unrecognized command from the client agent. (COMMAND=81

BrightStor ARCserve Backup Client Agent for Windows is r11.5, build 4144...

8 servers backed-up over network to an ultrium 2 unit, running r11.5 build 3884.
One server r11.5, build 4144 returns the above error when you try to run a backup.
Have installed agent again using 11.5 sp1 disk but same story.
Backup unit uses hp lto ultrium tape drive.
Windows driver is disabled

any ideas greatly recieved.

The problem is your host server not being patched up to the same level as the client agent. Patch up the host server and the problem should disappear.
