I'm running Arcserve 6.6. Novell 5.1. I have a HP Surestore Dat8 and an HP Surestore Dat24x6 autoloader. The tape drive is attach to server "Ballet". I'm backing up two volumes from server "Ballet". I'm backing up two other servers "B" and "C". B has 4 volumes and C has two. I'm only getting this error message on the SYS- volumes from the "Ballet" server. Any ideals?

note: these are not the real server names just an example

well,
Definately a hardware issue. Give the tape head a thorough cleaning, replcae the media with new media. If the issue persists then try updating your scsi drivers for the scsi card.

I think the issue is that the drive is starting to faulter out of normal wear and tear.
