E450 Disk Device IDs 1

I have an E450 with disks in 18 of the 20 internal slots. Using prtconf -vp | grep slot#, I have discovered the device IDs of the disks in slots 0-3 that are using the internal controller. The other disks are in use, but the slot #s are not showing up on this system. I'd like to figure out the device IDs assigned to each individual slot.

One thing I have noticed is that when this system was configured, it doesn't look like the admin used the 'setenv disk-led-assoc 0 x y' command. I'm assuming that is why I'm not seeing what I thought I should with prtconf.

I do know that the SCSI HBA for the internal 8 disk trays are in slot 1 and 9, but I'm not sure which card is tied to which tray. Any ideas on how I can figure this out with rebooting/powering down the system?

Thanks,

Troy

Go to sunsolve ( and select support and training. In that window select knowledge base

Search for infodoc 27243 or E450 disks.

Does anyone know whether or not you can use the 'eeprom' command to set the 'disk-led-assoc' variable? If so, would a reboot still be required before you'd have visibility to the devices in slots 4-19? Also, could setting this variable have any impact on disks in slots 4-19 that are already in use?

Thanks,

Troy
