I am trying to do a restore on a Travan drive that we have software compression turned on (hardware compression doesn't work with this tape drive). It is giving me this:

The backup was from last night. It does not appear to be a tape issue, as we have tried 3 different tapes and received the same result each time. The backups are all successful. Which makes me think the tape drive is just fine. So, I'm stumped. We are doing a backup by session. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Debi

Does it make a difference that it is always 1 hour exactly between the Data Compression enabled log entry and the first error? I have replaced the tape drive and disabled it in windows. I can do a restore of a file that's close to the front of the tape, but nothing toward the end. Always the same error.

Arcserve 2000 Advanced SP2
Windows 2000 Server SP2

Thanks,
Debi
