Hello,
after Upgrading NW 4.11 to NW5.1 Sp2a
(and also AS6.1 to AS6.6SP4)
the jobs, which where running perfectly before, starte to give me hundreds of
E3168/E1056 Errors during compare (pls. see excerpt of the log file below).
Also a restore is not possible
because of error:
E1062 Invalid session signature, abbaabba

Configuration:
Compaq Proliant 3000
Newest NSSD
ATL Powerstor L200
Novell Netware 5.1 SP2
Arcserve 6.6/SP4

Anyone seen this before ?
thanks in advance,
Thomas

Hi TheLad,
thanks a lot for your suggestion,
but the problem is also with brand new tapes.
The big difference i found out
is that before the upgrade
the symbios drivers were used,
whereas after the upgrade cpqscsi.ham
loads.
Seen this before ?
regards
Thomas

What is your block size set to? You can find this out by looking at the Tape Server on the server, selecting 'Configuration', and selecting 'Device'.

Also, ensure that your DLT drive is running the latest firmware. Check the vendors website. "It's true, its damn true!"

Found the solution during the weekend ...
The culprit were the newest Management Agents from Compaq (5.20) - in fact the SCSI Subsystem Agent !
After NOT loading the Agents everything is fine again - maybe this helps others with the same problem.

I just had this same error with a netware 5 server running arcserve 6.6 sp4. Here is a copy of the errors showing up during a backup:

E1062 Invalid session signature, 0
E1062 Invalid session signature, 0
E1056 Invalid file header [] signature=cccccccc
Recover file ARCSERVE.6\EMPTYDB
E1084 Invalid stream signature a4c9534e.
File trailer signature is invalid! (file: ,signature:4db53af9)

The cpqscsa.nlm health agent was ver 5.1, after unloading everything seems to be back to normal.
