Having trouble with Arcserve 6.5 build 620 on an NT4 SBS machine, backing up to a tape drive inside that single server. Basically I specify a domain account in the Arcserve Server Admin, with a valid password, and username. This account has rights to log on locally, act as part of operating system, logon as a service, and is in admins group, in domain admins, and in backup operators group. I have recycled the Arcserve engines after checking the username and password are entered correctly in the Arcserve Server Admin. I have also logged on to this machine locally using the username and password, and know this to work.

Starting the arcserve engines, I get error message "E3073 - Unable to logon as user (USER=Domain\Arcback. EC=FILE NOT FOUND)", where "Domain" is the name of my domain, and Arcback is the domain user account i created for use by Arcserve.

Basically the backup then does not work. I also get W3073 errors, with the same error message when the job runs. I've searched for info about this on CA's site, and here, and have done everything suggested, as I've tried to document here.

If anyone can point me towards the thing I'm not doing, I'll buy them a pint, 'cos it's driving me mad.

Thanks in advance

Iain

No ideas? I'm getting no joy from CA support, who have now advised me to do two of the things I've already told them I've done. But that's nothing new.
