Hello,
My client’s configuration is a little weird at best but however I’m having a few issues with outgoing email. My client has a SBS2000 server yet refuses to use the exchange server as the default bridgehead. Instead they use a client PC with a POP3 email account, which sends and receives all external emails. Obviously this requires manual intervention of someone having then to redirect the mail to recipient & vice versa.
My issue is sometimes external delivery of mail goes via the POP account, yet sometimes its sent to the internal exchange server for delivery. These of course don’t get sent anywhere and eventually the client will get a NDR. Interestingly enough these messages usually have larger (about 1meg) attachments?
The XP client is using Outlook 2003 and I’ve set the send and receive policy’s to ignore the exchange server. Or better yet told the policy to not send to the exchange server. The client is connected via the LAN and has an ADSL connection to the web.
I’ve been looking at some Q docs regarding cached exchange mode and some info may apply but really doesn’t help.
Has anybody seen this sort of environment B4 – any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Clop
