I’ve searched Google up and down about this situation and have had no luck at all in finding a lead to a solution much less an actual solution. Here it is:
I built a new, clean E2K server and joined it to an Existing 5.5 site. This 5.5 site is a member of a larger organization of other sites. The other sites are all on E2K (the entire organization was 5.5 at one time). There are no major communication errors on the new server and installs ran successfully (forestprep, domainprep, etc). AD is run on a native W2K DC domain with AD integrated DNS on a separate server. The E2K server is the only thing on the box.
Here’s the issue, when viewing the other sites from the new E2K System Mgr, all other sites are whited-out, and obviously so are the servers within. The catch and I think wherein my problem lies is these sites are in another separate forest (2 forests in all, with a complete two-way trust setup).
What I need to know is what needs to happen for a single Exchange 2000 organization to function interforest? Or is it even possible? Also, through E2K System Mgr, the bridgehead server is NOT even listed in the site in the other forest, although in E5.5 it is (the local E5.5 server is still operational and is the bridgehead server).
TIA
Jeff
