We are running in a Netware 4.11 sp9 environment with Arcserve 7. On our mail server, we are running Netware 5.1 sp2. We are using the Netware Push Agent on it. We execute one backup job for both servers. The backup does very well on our production box, however, when it begins to backup our mail server, we get an E15030 FAILED TO RECEIVE DATA/REQUEST timeout. When it backsup the mail server, it connects using TCP/IP. The fastest speed we get when it attempts to backup our mail server is between 9KB and 15KB minute. We are at a loss as to what to do besides purchasing another tape backup unit and installing it on our mail server to run its own backup. Please help. All suggestions welcome.

I am using pretty much the same setup just backing up more servers (both 4.11 sp9 & 5.1 sp2a). I have received that message at times from both the 4.x & 5.x servers. I end up rebooting the servers and they work fine. There appears no rhyme or reason when it happens, but it is not often. Make sure you have applied nw51sp2a not the earlier nw51sp2. Also I use the Arcserve GroupWise Agent & the Push Agent (ver 6.6) on my mail server. That increased speed & reliability of the backup.

Good Luck,

Mark ;-)
