E1306 Unable to connect to tape engine(EC=1722) 1

Hi, all

here's my next problem. Since last Thursday the Tape Engine stopps when the first Job starts in the evening. In the activity.log you only see: E1306 Unable to connect to tape engine(EC=1722) but that the whole night. The windows eventlog only says: The ARCserve Tape Engine service terminated unexpectedly.

Test Jobs (Backup / Restore) also sceduled jobs work properly.

Configuration:
Windows 2000 SP 3
ArcServe 2000 SP4
TLO, DRO, BAOF, MSSQL 2000

Any Suggestions?

hi

have you tried installing the new device service pack from CA ??
check firmware on SCSI cards is up to date
Check your device compatibility with matrix on CA (pay particular attension to the firmware versions of the device itself)

Make sure the tape device is disabled in the Windows Device Manager. Enable the Tape Engine debug log (faq478-3964 for instructions how) then run a small test backup to recreate the problem. The end of the log might have data that will help to discover why it is happening.
