I have been dealing with this problem for a little over a week now. I hope that someone out there will be kind enough to help me. I am using ARCserve IT version 6.6 for NetWare (Small Business 4.2). Previously, my back ups were completed successfully and with out any errors or warnings (they are set to occur automatically every Monday thru Friday at 11:59 pm). Two weeks ago we had a technician come in and install RAM in our server and ever since then I have been receiving the following errors:

E1058 Failed to read from tape, controller failure
Module:
Aprocess

E0014 [Job #] [Job type] Operation Incomplete
Module:
Scheduler

Explanation:
This message occurs due to one of the following:
1. One or more directories, volumes, or nodes was missed.
2. You tried to copy to a remote server and the resulting destination directory had more than 16 subdirectories beneath it.

Cause/Solution:
For each of the possible causes, try the following:
1. Check the other error message(s) that are displayed for clues as to what caused the job to be incomplete.
2. The default is to limit subdirectories to 16. You can change this number through the ASCONFIG.INI file by modifying the switch MaxRemoteLevel=n in the [NetWare Copy] section. The maximum value of n is 32.

Now, I see that there is a way to fix this but I don't know how to go about making these changes. Why is this happening all of the sudden? Does anyone have any thorough instructions they can give me on how to take care of this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Caroline
