Customer has a BCM450 with an E1 programmed. Problem is with DID calls. Only 1 inward call to the BCM will come. 2nd call gets a "reason code 44" at the DMS. Multiple outbound calls go ok. There are only 2 options on the trunk module, overlap receiving and crc4 and the telco says not to check them. Target lines are set up ok because you can call them one at a time. I have done lots of PRI T1 but this is my first E1. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Cause No. 44 - requested circuit/channel not available

Does the inbound calls come in starting at channel 1? If so whwat happens if you deprovision that channel and make a call in?

I did a test and call came in on channel 16. I busied out 16 and call came in on 18 but with 18 busy, next call got a busy. I am at a complete loss as carrier says it is a bcm problem. Any other thoughts?

Others are no options on an E1 except crc4 and overlap receiving. That is all there is.

In Mexico, check overlap and uncheck CRC
Provision lines are checked
Are you using MBM R2MFC?

Can you explain overlap receiving and what should I check for the number of digits? Thanks

Digits are passed immediately to BCM as they are received (PRI overlap mode) on incoming
calls from CO to BCM. This causes the BCM to determine end of dialing, and to immediately
signal call completion.

Number of digits: amount of digits of your extensions

are you using MBM R2MFC?

THanks Morenot . Good explanation. I will make change. I am using a DTI mbm. I can't see R2mfc anywhere. Is it on the module or in software? Thanks again

It is other MBM, with Region:Global, Cala, Mexico

for E1 R2mfc 30 Channels

Is your 450 patched? When it 1st came out every 450 did that. Nortel released an emergency patch for it.

Just checked and patching is not up to date. Will patch and hopefully that will cure problem. I will post. Thanks for all the great replies.

Patching was the cure. Thanks everyone. Your help is greatly appreciated.
