Really ?

E1-R2 Coax doesn´t work with Release 6.1 ??

Even thought I have a Legacy Card Carrier ?

Regards,

I think it does, from a R5 set of docs:

• IP Office 500 Legacy Card Carrier (Maximum 2).
This card allows a variety of IP400 trunk and VCM cards to be used with the IP Office 500 control unit. The front of the card includes a number of panels that can be snapped off to match the ports available when an IP400 trunk card is fitted.

• This card does not accept any IP Office 500 daughter trunk cards.
• The IP Office 500 control unit can accept up to 2 IP400 trunk or VCM cards by mounting each card on an IP Office 500 Legacy Card Carrier

• This card supports, one each, of the following IP400 cards:
• 700185200 - PRI T1
• 700185218 - Dual PRI T1
• 700272461 - PRI 30 E1 (1.4)
• 700272479 - Dual PRI E1
• 700241631 - PRI 30 E1R2 RJ45
• 700241649 - Dual PRI E1R2 RJ45
• 700241656 - PRI 30 E1R2 COAX EXP
• 700241664 - PRI 60 E1R2 COAX EXP
• 700241649 - Dual PRI E1R2 RJ45
• 700359938 - ANLG 4 Uni
• 700262017 - BRI-8 (UNI)
• 700359854 - VCM 4
• 700359862 - VCM 8
• 700359870 - VCM 16
• 700359888 - VCM 24
• 700293939 - VCM 30

Unless of course they dropped support with the V2, which may well be the case :)

Andy, tech bulletin 80 (4.0) states that the E1-R2 wich coax is not supported on a legacy card carrier :)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

True and it won't work.
did you ask this question on the avaya users forum too?
There was a similar question about this card.(which i answered the same :) )

If tech bulletin 80 is for 4.0 and 4.0 is when the 500 was introduced, why do the docs I quoted specifically state it is supported on legacy card carriers? Avaya's left hand not talking to it's right I guess :)

which doc is it in?
Can you send it to me andy?

You can also "create a config" in the Manager, select the IPO you like and the card. You'll see that you don't have the option.

I think the problem with the COAX card is the grounding, there is no grouding plate on a legacy car in the front;
