Hi we have 02 cs1000M site, one is release 4.5 and other is release 5.5. These 2 sites are using a 2MB data link use for LAN/Internet access. Now customer is installing CISCO router having E1 card in it and we are ask to connect both PBX using E1. We have installed PRI cards at both ends and configured the E1 link is UP. Now IP ppls are asking following

(1) How many byte required for One call to other site using
E1 link. They are also using this link for Data and
they dont wants data disturbance while using E1 link.

(2) Which signalling PRI use to communicate with other site?

(3) Do i have to set some CISCO router bandwidth settings
for this E1 Link.

(4) Can i configure cisco route to assign particular
bandwidt to E1 connectivity so that E1 calls stays
within limit.

(5) Is thereanother device available which can run data
link with an option of E1 so that Data and E1 both run
with interrupting each other.

(6) How much bandwidth one channel of E1 consume?

(7) What type of framing does PRI use?

I will be very thankful if some body briefly answer these.

framing is esf, using 8 bit code surpression (b8zs) you need two meg bandwidth per e1.. your using 30k per call and all setup and tear down is on the d.. if it's non pri, you use 12 k inband for setup and teardown perchannel.

the cisco marks the call non discard (a 1 in the de frame).. an e1 can not use more then the default 2 meg settings on the cisco..

if you want more control, change to itg trunks..

to keep it simple, one end (net) supplies a 2 meg clock, the user side follows that clock, then it's simple (and old) tdm.. you can play with qos in the cisco, but unless your bandwidth is low you will not get clipping.. if you don't have the bandwidth, qos will not help

Hi john, thanx for explaining how ever need some more brief on this.

(1)Is it 30Kbyte per call on E1???? if yes this means for one
E1 link if all channels are busy then 30x30=900Kbyte
required???
(2) In this case i think it wont disturb data communication
as it is consuming 900KB on full calls load.Is it correct?
(3)We can define framing through IFC prompt?? is it correct?

Regards.
